2022年7月12日，澳新食品标准局（FSANZ）发布A1249号公告，拟将植物甾醇、植物甾烷醇或其酯（植物甾醇）作为新食品添加到植物性奶替代品中，每250ml最多添加2.2g。所要求的修正案的目的是通过为寻求降低血液胆固醇的消费者提供食品供应中植物甾醇的替代来源来改善公众健康。该公告意见反馈期截至2022年8月12日。
